It's time to finally reveal the cover for my upcoming 2nd Edition release of "Under A Hunter's Moon", the first of the "Shadows Over Seattle: Prequels" #UrbanFantasy #ShortStory series.
Why a 2nd Edition?
Find out on May 2nd when I reveal the new cover and some additional details about the story.
Mary R. Woldering: Not even sure I know the first step in a cover reveal. I've fantasized about one and took steps in my second and third books but was ultimately told I was not allowed to have one by Createspace which owned the designs until I hit publish. This may not have been true, but you already know about me from our adventures in B2Bcycon. Still blind. Still stumbling :-) I just now saw the announcement about your reveal. Sorry I mussed it.

That's one of the nice things about doing my publishing myself. I have full control of what I reveal, and when. I've actually been waiting to do this cover reveal for weeks...
Judith Rook: Sorry I couldn't be here for the kick-off. I like the cover. It would certainly attract my interest in a book shop, and the video is definitely not amateurish in the way many such presentations are (my own included). One question, if I may. Where did the music come from?

I just used the default music that came with the template. The good thing is that PowToon works like a presentation system, but has some pretty powerful tools (if you buy into the membership - which I DIDN'T)...
Timothy Bateson
The video took about an hour to put together. The templates at PowToon make it so easy to create a good video. I'll probably do something similar for all the stories in this series.
Connie Cockrell
Thanks for letting me know. I thought it was a video company. I'll check it out as I'd like to do some promo vids.

It's definitely worth the time to watch some of their 'how-to' videos, because there are some really great tools available

Wendy H. Jones: Fab cover. Very atmospheric. Congratulations

Thanks, Wendy. It's definitely a huge change from the cover that I had for the 1st edition. Hopefully, it'll draw more of the right kind of reader for this story.

Timothy BatesonAs for the cover design, I have Claudia at CeeJay Designs to thank. She did an awesome job of walking me away from my initial (flawed) idea, and toward what we now have. I've learned the hard way that the designer often has a better idea of how to create... moreAs for the cover design, I have Claudia at CeeJay Designs to thank. Thanks Jeanette. I really liked the video template from PowToon, and given the agency that the MC works for it's very characterful. I've used it in the past to do a promotional video for the 1st edition of this story.
Susanne Leist: Wow! I love your video! The retina scan is awesome.

Thanks. I wish I could actually claim that part of the design. I took a template from PowToon and modified the timing on a few elements, removed a few, and then added what I really needed (like the count-down).
Susanne Leist: A wolf-shifter sounds ominous. Reminds me of my favorite show, The Originals.

Timothy BatesonHehehe, I've always loved wolves, and as an English-born resident living in the US always felt like I was living in two different worlds. It's amazing how that informed a lot of the decisions I made when I took my wife's basic concept and fleshed them... moreHehehe, I've always loved wolves, and as an English-born resident living in the US always felt like I was living in two different worlds. It's amazing how that informed a lot of the decisions I made when I took my wife's basic concept and fleshed them out into the lupine species.
