I've just passed 70,000 words of a SciFi novel. It's not a crime book, but it's what I'm working on. I think it's the beginning of series, but I'm taking a lot of care to make it a stand-alone.
Wendy H. Jones: Who's doing Camp NaNoWriMo? If anyone would like to join me in my cabin please put your NaNoWriMo name in the comments. Lets' give each other support and encouragement to get those word counts soaring

Amy, it's saying you haven't created a project yet so I can't add you to my cabin. If you create a project we can camp together

The first crime novel I read was years ago, Undercurrents by Ridley Pearson, which was recommended to me because it happens in the waters around my home on southern Vancouver Island and the American Pacific Northwest. I'm also hoping my binge watching of The First 48 will pay off =)
Diane Garland: Hello! I offer support to authors who write series. I deal with continuity--all those pesky details that are so hard to remember--I organize and track them so they are at the author's fingertips when needed. Think story bibles on steroids.
Dawn R. Schuldenfrei: Hello. I write mostly fantasy, sometimes with a mystery element to it. I love reading mysteries, and would like to try my hand at writing a full on mystery one of these days.
Wendy H. Jones: Good morning and welcome to the group. Let’s start by introducing ourselves. I’m a crime writer, radio presenter and, as of Sunday, President of the Scottish Association of Writers. I write adult crime books and YA Mysteries

The trouble is, of course, Amazon has launched the algorithms, and they might just find out without trying.

Finishing the formatting on my new romantic suspense novel. I wish I could use Vellum, but that's only available for macOS. I haven't found anything comparable for PCs yet.

I'm living in Panama [Paradise]. Anyone coming here can contact me, and I can tell you about the places you would like. I will first say to avoid Colon, at all costs, as it is dangerous, as are a few places in Panama City. There is great freedom, here, and places where a lot of people who speak English are sort of colonized [Boquete, in particular]. A few authors, and some musicians and artists of other fields, of international reknown vacation in Isla Colon. [Bocas del Toro province, NOT Colon!]. which is like an older version of Key West. I am in Gualaca, Chiriqui. It is a clean, tranquil town at the foot of the mountains on the Bocas/David highway. The scenery is unbelievable, and the people very warm and accepting. The prices are very low, relative to most places. We meet and argue [in good nature] about our individual situations, and the Clint Faraday Mysteries [60 books] are generally based on people I've met. as well as the Indio culture. There are characters and situations everywhere [me being a "local character" - an 80 year old long-haired hippie who studies plants, mostly orchids and medicinal plants, and who has found cures from everything ftom migraines to cancer] My avatar is a charcoal sketch by another character, who is a known artist all over central and South America. Alfredo Augustino Castillo Thomas. I will be glad to meet other authors, and, particularly, weird characters. You might end up in a book, either as a killer or a victim! Bwah ha heh!

So my new cover's done. I really like it!
I expect this release, even with all I've been doing for it, to just be "okay" even though this is definitely my favorite cover yet out of every book I've written. I guess it's all about working forward a little bit at a time, eh? (L)

Dreamt all night about the edits I need to do to the 3rd book. First, need breakfast.
