Wendy H. Jones: I'm half way through the Cypher Bureau by Eilidh McGinnis. It's definitely one of those can't put it down mysteries. I love it. Which can't put it down book would you recommend?

Wendy H. Jones: My Easter read is a cracking mystery from Eildih McGinness. A debut novel I would say she is definitely one to watch. What are your Easter reads?

I'm currently re-reading the Consignment Shop mysteries by Duffy Brown so I can read her latest release. I also have Annette Dashofy's newest in line to read.

I don't like too much procedural stuff; I like to have something that's enough of a puzzle that I don't figure it out before the end of the book, or at least almost the end. It has to surprise me at least a little. And I'm not sure yet what marks the line between something that drags and bores me vs. something that moves along at just the right pace. I guess that's why I have trouble sometimes; if I can't even describe it to myself, it's hard to describe it to anyone else to ask for recommendations.
I used to like Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series, but then I listened to an audiobook with a reader who just put me off it entirely; totally changed my view of the character. It's been long enough that I could probably go back and try that again with a fresh eye. I'm also a fan of any mysteries involving supernatural stuff as well. less

The trouble is, of course, Amazon has launched the algorithms, and they might just find out without trying.

Finishing the formatting on my new romantic suspense novel. I wish I could use Vellum, but that's only available for macOS. I haven't found anything comparable for PCs yet.

I'm living in Panama [Paradise]. Anyone coming here can contact me, and I can tell you about the places you would like. I will first say to avoid Colon, at all costs, as it is dangerous, as are a few places in Panama City. There is great freedom, here, and places where a lot of people who speak English are sort of colonized [Boquete, in particular]. A few authors, and some musicians and artists of other fields, of international reknown vacation in Isla Colon. [Bocas del Toro province, NOT Colon!]. which is like an older version of Key West. I am in Gualaca, Chiriqui. It is a clean, tranquil town at the foot of the mountains on the Bocas/David highway. The scenery is unbelievable, and the people very warm and accepting. The prices are very low, relative to most places. We meet and argue [in good nature] about our individual situations, and the Clint Faraday Mysteries [60 books] are generally based on people I've met. as well as the Indio culture. There are characters and situations everywhere [me being a "local character" - an 80 year old long-haired hippie who studies plants, mostly orchids and medicinal plants, and who has found cures from everything ftom migraines to cancer] My avatar is a charcoal sketch by another character, who is a known artist all over central and South America. Alfredo Augustino Castillo Thomas. I will be glad to meet other authors, and, particularly, weird characters. You might end up in a book, either as a killer or a victim! Bwah ha heh!

So my new cover's done. I really like it!
I expect this release, even with all I've been doing for it, to just be "okay" even though this is definitely my favorite cover yet out of every book I've written. I guess it's all about working forward a little bit at a time, eh? (L)
