I'd suggest instead of the yellow, using a colour on the opposite side of the colour wheel from the orange, such as blue. It would really pop and would balance and contrast nicely with all the orange.
Thomas WeaverThe yellow for the author's name works all right (it is similar to the yellow-white of the headlights, so the eye is drawn there), but the yellow-and-black for the title and short description don't have enough contrast. Another option would be to change the fonts: a thicker font would have more contrast without having to change the color(s). When I look at this thumbnail of the cover, it's the subtitle that drops out, and I think even solid black in a heavier font might take care of a lot of that. If you make the orange of the background less intense -- lighter and a little bit less saturated -- the black will stand out rather well, I think, but the yellow may disappear at that point. The angled title looks odd to me; I wonder how that would look both larger and placed horizontally (or angled the other way so it matches the upper lines of the vehicle in the foreground). less

Thank you, Elizabeth and Thomas. You clearly have better visual imaginations than my own. Excellent ideas, which I will apply to the design.

Knitting is one of those repetitive-motion activities that are supposed to be good for helping the brain relax, which in turn is good for creativity.

He didn't survive the fall back in 1984 so yes, finding himself in the present day allows me to have a lot of fun with things we have now that we didn't have then.

Finishing the formatting on my new romantic suspense novel. I wish I could use Vellum, but that's only available for macOS. I haven't found anything comparable for PCs yet.
